Setting off from Bamford, we passed a few
'tractor eggs' in the fields.
The Anglers Rest pub also now houses their post office,
as advertised by this old Royal Mail bike.
Fidler's lane, a VERY steep climb up towards Bamford edge.
Our goal - Bamford edge.
Looking across to Lose Hill.
Hope cement works - a constant in the Hope valley.
The bracken gets pretty deep and dense on the path up to the edge.
Once you're up on the edge, on a clear day, the views are some of the best in the Peak District. Access was denied here for many years, but walkers just used to trespass. Nowadays, thanks to the Right to Roam law, everyone can enjoy this special place.
Legs eleven :-)
Looking north towards Kinder Scout, with the Great Ridge to the left.
Going through a 'purple patch'!
One of the classic calendar shots - Ladybower, from Bamford edge.
Happy, happy, happy!
The steep path up to Lose Hill is evident in this shot.
Time for a bit more bushwhacking down to the valley.
I SEE YOU!!
Ladybower dam.
On the way back to the car, we passed this garage with an old Chevvy inside, and were invited in by the owner, when he saw us taking an interest.
He had a good old Landy too!
